Every one of us can feel lost at times. We can feel alone in our thoughts or apart from other people. These feelings can lead us to sadness, a heavy heart, anxiety, and not knowing what to do next. What do you do when you feel lost?
Luke 19:10 tells us that “…the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.” Yes, Jesus seeks us when we are lost in our sin. But Jesus also seeks us when we are feeling lost within ourselves. He comes after us in order to pull us back to him. The most encouraging aspect of this is that we can never get so far away that He cannot pull us back.
Jesus comes after us and leads us home, and He rejoices when we follow Him. He uses His love to fill us back up again, so that we can find our way again. There is such great comfort in knowing that whenever we feel down or discouraged we have a personal savior who wants to make us better.
In Isaiah 41:10, God’s words to Isaiah give us great hope. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” God wants us to be comforted in the fact that he is always there. He is the only one with enough strength to sustain us through everything and He is the only one whose arms are strong enough to support us until we are strong enough to do it ourselves.
How do you think when when you are feeling lost? Satan wants you to believe lies – that you don’t deserve God’s grace, or that God has grown tired of you. But in this passage, God reminds us that He is the one who is always there, and his Holy Spirit is a constant presence in our lives. His love and care for us are never-ending!
