Better Bible Study in 2021

How BentonBlog will help with better Bible study in 2021.

New Testament Reading and Teaching

For 2021, the Hampton Roads Church will be reading and preaching through the New Testament. More information, including a reading plan and a bookmark with helpful ideas, is available on the Hampton Roads Church website.

To support the New Testament plan for 2021, BentonBlog will be posting daily devotional questions and thoughts to help with quiet times and group discussion. I also have a Google calendar available with the daily reading, a link to that day’s scripture (via Bible Gateway), and a link to the BentonBlog New Testament posts list. If I can keep up, the BentonBlog link will have that day’s devotional post at the top of the list.

In addition, we’re aligning the men’s morning haverim group to the schedule. We’d also like to help others start these “group of friends” discussion groups. Resources are available here: blog posts describing the haverim concept, outline examples, and other information.

Other Plans for 2021

I also have plans for posting a series on spiritual disciplines from a midweek series I taught a few years ago. The series includes lessons on daily disciplines and resources for improving them. Areas covered include Bible study, prayer, relationships, and others.

I’m also putting plans together to host a special online event in February on Psalm 119. This will include the lessons and discussions that started the morning men’s haverim last April, and focus on growing in our love of God’s Word.

Thanks For Your Support

These plans are all dependent on the amount of time I have available on weekends to put the materials together. I appreciate your prayers and encouragement.

Please let others know about BentonBlog! And if you have any feedback, please send a comment. Thanks for reading BentonBlog.
