At the Teen Parent Devo last night (10/19), Mary and I presented a format for putting family devotionals together and asked parents to develop a devo based on a topic they chose. The handout for the devo can be downloaded from this link.
The format follows five simple steps: take your idea, find one or two scriptures to support it, find examples of the topic issue, find a few practicals and then take time to pray together.
We asked parents to take an idea they were given and prepare a devo to do with their family. We also asked them to email us their notes and the feedback they received from their children including what they liked and what they thought would improve the devo.
We’ll gather the notes and post them on this blog site (any comments and personal information will be removed). Our goal is to provide a library of devo topics, scriptures and notes to help parents of teens have regular, weekly devos with their families.
