UPDATE: January 3, 2022
For 2022, the Hampton Roads Church will have a new reading plan based on the Torah, Proverbs, Psalm 119, Daniel, and the Minor Prophets! The plan is now available on the HRC website and can also be downloaded using the button below.
Also, the Bible Project app is now available for both iOS (Apple devices) and Android! The iOS version has been available for about a week now and the Android version was made available today, January 1, 2022. We’ll continue to use the app and other resources from the Bible Project, but will consider them optional and not required for the Haverim / HRC reading plan.
I’ve taken a look at the Bible Project app and while it will be a great resource, we won’t be attempting to stay in synch with their release schedule as originally planned. First, it will take a time commitment to complete the videos and exercises that is beyond what we normally ask for our haverim group. Second, it will likely not follow a schedule that we can easily synch with for our daily read, pray and talk times.
The HRC / Haverim Reading Plan will follow up on the 2021 ResilieNT plan by going back to the foundational teachings of the Bible in the Torah, which are important to understanding many of the teachings in the books of the Prophets and the New Testament. I’m looking forward to exploring these foundations as we start a new year with a new focus on the basics of building our faith.
If you’d like to join a group or are leading one in 2022, please contact me or leave a comment below. If you want to learn more about the haverim approach we’re using, see the posts here.
